The Short Course in Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) offered by the Tanzania Institute of Monitoring and Evaluation (TIME) is designed to equip professionals with essential skills and knowledge in M&E, catering to both newcomers and experienced individuals looking to enhance their expertise. This course provides a practical, results-oriented approach to M&E, focusing on critical areas such as planning, indicator development, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Participants can choose between a One-Week Course for a foundational, intensive overview of results-based M&E concepts, and a One-Month Course that offers an in-depth exploration of advanced methodologies, hands-on applications, and detailed evaluation techniques. Both programs are structured to help participants effectively design, monitor, and evaluate projects, ensuring they are equipped to support data-driven decision-making and maximize project impact. With a blend of interactive sessions, case studies, and practical exercises, the course provides a comprehensive learning experience, empowering participants to implement sustainable M&E systems within their organizations.

  • One-Week Course: A condensed, intensive program for participants seeking foundational knowledge and practical M&E skills in a short timeframe. This course is ideal for professionals needing a quick yet thorough introduction to results-based M&E concepts.
  • One-Month Course: A comprehensive program that covers advanced concepts, hands-on applications, and detailed methodologies in Results-Based M&E. Designed for participants who wish to deepen their understanding, this course enables individuals to gain practical and technical skills essential for robust project planning, monitoring, and evaluation.

These courses are crafted to equip participants with the knowledge and tools required to effectively design, monitor, and evaluate projects, thereby supporting evidence-based decision-making and maximizing project impact in their organizations.

Additionally, TIME offers an intensive Three-Month Practical Internship in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for individuals who have completed foundational M&E training. Eligible candidates must have either:

  • Completed a Master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, or
  • Successfully completed the One-Month Results-Based M&E Course provided by TIME.

This hands-on internship emphasizes the practical application of M&E methodologies in real-world settings, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and project performance evaluation. Participants will work directly with field data, develop detailed evaluation reports, and implement evidence-driven strategies under expert supervision. The program is structured to enhance participants’ technical proficiency, deepen their practical experience, and prepare them for impactful roles in M&E across various sectors.
